We aim to provide an efficient service at Fieldside Thrift. To support you on your journey we have provided some FAQs. If you have any feedback regarding FAQs, please use our feedback process. We welcome your views as we grow our community of adventurous people. 

Is Fieldside Thrift only for new items? 

Fieldside Thrift is for new and second hand items. When uploading a product we ask that you provide a ‘Condition’ update to the listing to ensure buyers understand the condition of the item. Please add any defects or issues to the description field when listing an item for sale.

What is Fieldside Thrift?

Fieldside Thrift is an online marketplace for users to buy and sell items relating to the countryside or inspired events. We offer user profiles (for anyone) and business/vendor profiles for Business’s who may have stock/items to sell. Create an account by clicking the button in the nav bar or the person icon, it is free to register. Please visit our about us page to find out more. 

Can I contact the seller before buying?

Yes, we have a messaging functionality called ‘Chat box’ in your Store Manager Dashboard. You can also message the user from the listing using the link. Check your Chat Box regularly to see updated messages to ask questions etc.

a. Are there any fees for listing items?

b. How do I get paid?

a. Listing items is free, but a small commission fee is charged on each sale.

b. Once the buyer has received the item and no refund is requested, payments are processed through Stripe. After a successful sale, the funds will be transferred to your Stripe account, which you can then withdraw to your bank account. 

How do I know if I have sold something?

Once a listing of yours has sold, you will receive an email from Fieldside Thrift to advise (please check junk email regularly). Once period of time for buyer to receive item and no refund request made, the funds will be released to your Stripe account and you will receive notification from Stripe.

What is the shipping process?

When listing an item please select the option for size of your parcel to indicate amount. These amounts are based on an average across the top UK postage companies. Once sold an item, you are responsible for ensuring the item is securely packaged and shipped promptly. Please update your sold listing with the tracking detail in your Store Manager Dashboard.

I cannot find how to add a Stripe account

When registering for Fieldside Thrift, you should be taken to Stripe. If this is unsuccessful or skipped and you are unable to find how to add your Stripe account (which will be created through Fieldside Thrift link), please go to Payments on Store Manager and follow the link to add Stripe. If you already have a Stripe Account, you can sign in using the link. If you have any issues, please contact us using the ‘Contact Us’ process.

 

What should I do if I encounter a problem with my purchase?

If you have an issue with your purchase, contact the seller through our messaging system. If the issue is not resolved, you can open a dispute by requesting a refund in the system or contacting us. 

When listing an item, what is the difference between Simple Product and Variable product?

We have added 2 different product types to help people list more than 1 of the same item efficiently. 

Simple – Item with same colour/size available

Variable – Item with different colour/size available

Add any stock levels to fields in Listing Product. If you only have one item, select ‘Sold Individually’ 

I am unsure how to list items and what the process is?
